How I Teach Blues Guitar
Blues guitar is one of the easiest styles to learn. When people ask me to teach them "blues guitar" they are usually ready to jam after just a few lessons. (Of course like any art form it takes years to master blues guitar.)
When I teach blues guitar I begin with simple blues chord progressions. You may have heard the phrases "12 Bar Blues" or "One, Four, Five". These patterns are easy to learn, and fun to practice when you're alone. I also teach the "pentatonic scales" which work great for blues solos and fills.
After you learn the basics, we turn on the drum machine. I play rhythm guitar while you try out your new blues licks. It's a lot of fun.
