How I Teach "Nu Metal"

"Nu Metal" is the name that's been given to the latest style of heavy metal rock. I'm talking about Korn, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Union Underground, Disturbed, and lots of other bands out now.

Yes I teach this stuff. I try to teach the alternate guitar tunings that these bands use. Some bands (particularly Korn, Limp Bizkit, Disturbed) use 7 string guitars. Trying to learn some of their songs with a 6 string guitar can be challenging. Often though with the right tuning you can get a version of the song on six string guitar that sounds pretty close.

If you want to learn this stuff you have to bring in the tape or CD. Usually these songs aren't hard to play, but they're hard to tune your guitar to... so bring in the CD.
